Moving Lycos to Fasthosts

As promised I wanted to tell you why I made the drastic decision to move my blog away from Lycos.

Well for nearly a year I couldn't understand why my blog was not coming up in the the search results for Google.co.uk until finally I found out that Lycos.co.uk was just a complete sham my blog was hosted on a server in Portugal and for that reason Google never classed it as a uk website.

This of course needs to be exposed so no one else makes the same mistake.

So if any one reads this I would appreciate any help on getting this exposed.

If anyone is in the same predicament, I thought I would recommend fasthosts, although more expensive and in some ways not as good as lycos ie with their one click site, what I am happy with was with their customer service, second to none and as their servers are UK based finally my blog www.recruitment-views.com comes up in google.co.uk

Lycos have done it again

Why o why did I do it, I should have know I would be shafted by Lycos again. Mind you I only have myself to blame but I stuck with them because changing hosting company seems a drastic measure.

Well in the end I have done, I will go into this a little more later.

Today I finally got an email back from Lycos saying they will not refund my contract as I did not write to cancel my contract, although I thought I did within a week of realizing their product is unsuitable. Know am tied to pay £17 per month for a year, absolutely daylight robbery.

Although legally I buggered I am determined to ensure others do not get caught either hence this blog.

Oh and the reason for moving my blogs to fasthosts well I will write in my next post

Lycos are liers and cheats

Well it has finally come to this I have to start some negative viral marketing, I just cannot believe that still in this day and age that companies can still get away with day light robbery.

I have enjoyed blogging over the past few months to the point where I decided to get more serious and have my own domain and blog www.recruitment-views.com having chosen the name I searched for a hosting company for the blog and as Lycos advertised that they can host Wordpress I decided to use them, shortly after I find that they cannot as they are unable to service the pretty permalinks like virtually all other blogs including blogger.com.

Four months later they still havnt accepted that they lied to me or offer any kind of compensation so as a result it is important that anyone thinking of hosting their blog with Lycos should look else where.

So with the help of viral marketing I hope to reach as many bloggers as possible.
